Audio Director, Hexany Audio

Richard founded Hexany with the dream of creating an environment where great artists could thrive. He currently heads up project development and management, and works on projects in a variety of creative capacities. Richard has credits on AAA games, Blockbuster films, and regularly lectures on the topic of game audio. He’s also been a firm believer in Terran domination since the original StarCraft.

While his violin lessons at the age of five began as a hobby, Richard has since used his passion for music and sound to furnish a career in post-production. Specializing in sound design, interactive audio, and technology, Richard has worked as a sound designer and composer for video games, films, advertisements, and apps.

Richard has worked in audio post-production in a number of capacities, with credits on both AAA and indie games, Blockbuster films, and commercial advertising. Some recent credits include working as Sound Lead for the new reboot of King’s Quest (PS4/PS3, Xbox One/360, PC) published by Activision, Audio Director for Into the Stars (PC), and Audio Implementer for Disney Infinity (Wii).

Richard also regularly speaks on the subject of game music and sound. Some past lectures include talks for GDC, GDC Europe, GDC Next, GameSoundCon, PAX East, PAX Dev, IndieCade, Gamescom, the Midwest Game Developer’s Summit, Sigma Play, MIT, and Berklee College of Music.

Richard is a graduate of Berklee College of Music where he dual majored in Electronic Production & Design and Film Scoring, with minors in Acoustics & ElectronicsAudio Design for Video Games, and Video Game Scoring. At Berklee Richard co-founded the school’s Sound Design Network, and was honored with five different scholarships, including the Video Game Scoring Award and the Wendy Carlos Sound Design Award.

In late 2011, Richard made his dream of forming a studio a reality. Calling upon his talented friends and colleagues at Berklee, Richard proposed the idea of Hexany and the company was born. He currently serves as Audio Director at Hexany overseeing project management and production.
