Used primarily to link to game music and reviews. Many people who post to this tag are non-professionals who have an interest in game music.

#gameaudiofreelance
Place to list yourself as an audio contractor, or lookup a list of game audio contractors. This tag is primarily focused on sound design, but there are composers who post there services here too. The format for tweeting under this tag is requested as follows: [(Company)Name][Specialty][EngineProficiency] with the tag #gameaudiofreelance

Group discussion used by professionals and novices about all things game audio including techniques, middleware, and breaking into the industry.

Similarly, this subreddit is a discussion for game composers about music and composition.

Facebook Groups

Game Audio Denizens
Knowledgeable group of sound designers and composers including both professionals and those just starting out. Insightful discussions without self promotion. This is a very active group.

Video Game Composers and Sound Designers
Facebook discussion group focused primarily on the composing and sound design aspects of video games. Less active and knowledgeable than Game Audio Denizens, and can be prone to self promotion.

GANG (Game Audio Network Guild)
The Game Audio Network Guild (GANG) is a formal non-profit organization made up of professionals and novices dedicated to evangelizing the importance of game audio.

IASIG (Interactive Audio Special Interest Group)
The IASIG is an organization made up of professionals generally interested in coordinating and publishing industry standards and education in interactive audio. The IASIG is offshoot group of the MMA (Midi Manufacturer’s Association).
